Bigger and better for 2013…
Prom Xtra will stretch over 2 miles of beach and promenade making it our biggest event yet. The fun starts at the Old Colwyn slip road to the A55, and stretches the entire prom right up to The Toad.
Right, let us walk you through the site to let you know what we’ve got planned…
If you join us from the Old Colwyn end you’ll be entering our outdoor zone sponsored by the Halliwell Jones. We’ve filled it with top attractions to get your heart rate pumping!
Don’t miss the Top Gear Experience also sponsored by Halliwell Jones. If cars are your thing look out for the free simulator to test drive a Bugati Veyron or Cayterhan around the Top Gear track.
On the approach to Porth Eirias, the brand new watersports hotspot, you’ll see our family zone sponsored by the Yorkshire Building Society. This area is all about fun and we’ve got something for everyone.
Keep your eyes peeled when you’re passing the Porth Eirias building at 10:30, 12:00, 1:30, 3:00 and 3:45 as you may spot Apex Parkours free runners performing jaw dropping jumps. Check out some of the stunts they’ve been perfecting for the event.
Between Porth Eirias and the pier is the much loved funfair! Often the most colourful and noisy part of our event, it’s always the most popular. We’ve got rides for the little ones and loads for big kids too!
Just past Porth Eirias you’ll see loads going on down on the beach. Cartrefi Conwy has sponsored, and thanks to the clever sea defence engineers, the tide will never come in over this new stretch of sand.
Past the pier is the shopping zone. There really is a mix of activities going on here. There’s a market to browse, charities to talk to and lots of business exhibits to interact with too.
If you’ve got any energy left after spending a full day with us on Saturday, why not join us for our beach party? You’re invited to Prom Live, our FREE evening of live music from 5-9pm, to help us celebrate the launch of Porth Eirias.
